Terms & conditions of CAS-Nepal Services.

 

INTERPRETATION

In this document, the following words shall have the following meanings:
'you' and 'your' means the volunteer who applies for the program placement through CAS-Nepal. We', 'us', 'our' ' this' means CAS- NEPAL.G.P.O. Box 19615 Kathmandu , Nepal (Tel: ++977 1 2094165)

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Welcome to casnepal.org (the “Site”), a web site provided to you by Community Advancement Society-Nepal. These Terms and Conditions of Service (“Terms and Conditions”), as updated by CAS-Nepal from time to time, govern your use of the site and services (as defined below). You should carefully read the Terms and Conditions before using the site or the services. By using the Site or the Services, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions and are indicating that you are at least 16 years old or that you have the permission of your parent or guardian. This is a legally binding agreement. If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions, you should not use the Site or the Services.

SERVICES

CAS-Nepal site provides the information regarding the services it provides to volunteers .You can use our services soon after agreeing upon with our terms and conditions.We aim to make volunteer satisfied by our services, ensure the safety of our volunteers, and maintain the highest quality of programs possible. The following is a list of the many support services that we will provide during your stay.

• CAS-Nepal staff member will pick you at the airport on arrival
as well as take you to the airport at departure.
• CAS-Nepal places volunteers in very safe places to stay and work.
• CAS-Nepal staff can give great guidance and instruction about the local and national transportation and about the hiking trails around the working and urban area,incountry travel arrangement.
• Help with visa extensions.
• All theCAS-staff have mobile phones, so getting in contact in an emergency is not difficult. You are always welcomed to get in contact with the CAS- staff at any time on our cell phones during your entire stay.
• Cell phones are common thesedays in Nepal.SIM cards and pre-paid cards are pretty affordable. So, bring your cell-phone,CAS- helps you to get a SIM card.
• Host families and long-term placements are chosen near health care facilities.

ACCOMODATION

Throughout the duration of orientation and training, volunteers stay either at hotel or with host families either in Kathmandu or in chitwan. During training you will have a single separate room for accommodation. Volunteers will be provided with three to five hours of training per day and the duration of training depending upon the volunteering period. Rest of the day, volunteers will visit different schools, CAS- projects, orphanages and sight seeing. You will also meet other international volunteers and share the experience.
Once necessary orientation and trainings are provided and volunteers feel comfortable, volunteers will move to Nepali family. At the placement volunteers live with a local family as a member of the family and has a separate room. All the families have already accommodated our previous volunteers and they have been provided training on how to accommodate overseas volunteers. All the the placement areas have electricity and telephone facilities and most of the placements have internet acess as well.

FOOD

Volunteers will be provided mostly Nepali food at least two times a day throughout your training and placement, which will be of a suitable quality or quantity by local standards.You will have western/Nepali food during your training period.During your placement period,you are unable to have western food from your host families.If you wish to supplement your diet with other foods,for that you have to expense yourself.You should write somethings about your eating habits while submitting your application form.

TRAVEL

You are responsible for arranging and paying for your own travel (including your air fare and VISA). We will not plan a program until you have sent us your flight details. We are unable to reimburse or otherwise be responsible for any flight, travel or other costs or expenses of any nature, for example if your flight is cancelled.But we can advise you on your travel program.

Collection from the Airport

On receipt of your flight details,CAS-Nepal staff member will pick you at the airport on arrival as well as take you to the airport at departure. This is covered in the cost of your volunteer fee and as such there will be no charge. We will try our best to be on time to pick you. Also please note that we are not permitted to enter the arrivals hall of the airport so we can meet you just outside with a name plate. You can find CAS-staff with your name plate easily.

EXPENSES

For your program fees, please check this page program_cost.html .In addition to your program cost, you are also responsible for all of your personal expenses during your training and placement , which includes the cost of transport from your placement to other activities such as trekking or checking email. This is not expensive and we can provide approximate costs if you request us. As a volunteer, you agree that you will not request any payment from CAS-Nepal -the organisation responsible for your placement. 

TRAVEL INSURANCE

You will take out your own insurance cover for the period of your placement. You are responsible for ensuring that the amount and type of cover is sufficient and appropriate for the nature and location of your placement. You must provide us with a copy of your certificate of insurance as soon as possible. This insurance should at least cover; the cost of cancellation of the placement by you; the cost of assistance including repatriation in the event of accident or illness; legal liability and expenses; lost baggage; cancelled flights; medical expenses; kidnapping; liability arising due to personal injury to you or a third party; cancellation of your placement for any other reason including our liquidation or any other reason beyond our control.
We advise you to have adequate Travel Insurance, however, if you choose not to do so, please remember that we don't accept responsibility for any claims made by you.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you need to cancel your program prior to training, please contact our office. The amount of your refund will depend upon the date and conditions of your cancellation.Your registration fee is not refundable.Once you have started training there will be an agreed refund policy depending on circumstances, however, once you have traveled to your placement, there will be no refund.

Program Dates

Dates of your program are agreed prior to training in Kathmandu.Program starts every 1 & 15 of every month.So please arrive a day or some days earlier your program starts.You may leave your placement early agreement with CAS-Nepal but no refund will be granted. You may extend your volunteer period at the discretion of and with prior agreement of CAS-Nepal.You should pay extra fees for extended period. When your placement is over you must leave your host family's residence.

Required Documentation

CAS-Nepal requires certain information from volunteers throughout the process leading up to program arrival. This may include details about the volunteer’s skills and experience, a police clearance, legal waiver, etc. If this information is not submitted or reveals a volunteer’s lack of suitability for the program, CAS-Nepal reserves the right to halt the placement process until satisfactory changes are made. If the necessary changes cannot be made, this may result in loss of placement.

Your Obligations

-You must comply with any reasonable request by your Placement Coordinator. This may involve being transferred to the area in the locality provided that this would not place you in any danger and that the travel to the appropriate site is reasonable, or that suitable accommodation is provided.(You are responsible for any reasonable travel costs incurred in doing this). You must not enter into any direct negotiations or contractual arrangement for employment during your placement.

-You must take care of and be responsible for any materials provided for your use by your placement.-You are responsible for any damage or loss you cause to such materials (directly or through neglect).
-You are responsible for any damage to your accommodation caused by you or any guest(s) of yours at your accommodation (directly or through neglect).
-You must dress appropriately for interviews and work.
-You must behave appropriately in accordance with locally accepted behavior and custom during your placement.
-We do not accept responsibility for failure to secure work or dismissal from such work due to inappropriate dress or behavior.
